Getting Started with a Needs Assessment:In the Spring of 2005, Workplace Solutions partnered with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian Human Resources Department and conducted a study to assess the needs and wants of employee training within the Tribe. The Training Needs Assessment Project (TNAP) utilized on-line surveys, individual interviews and focus groups to assess employees' training needs. The curriculum for the Talent Mangement Project is a result of the finding from the TNAP. Pilot programs of the Talent Management Project began, consisting of two certification tracks; the Professional Skills track for front line employees and the Supervisory Skills track for managers. The Talent Management Program continues to evolve with each new class.
